The Opportunity
This opportunity sits within a well-established Queensland commercial practice that has built a strong reputation advising clients across the transport, logistics and infrastructure sectors. The team acts for a broad range of industry participants, including transport operators, manufacturers, suppliers and government entities, providing This is an opportunity to join an established insolvency and commercial disputes practice, working across complex litigation, restructuring and distressed debt matters in multiple Australian jurisdictions.
You will work closely with a Partner who has more than 15 years’ experience across insolvency, commercial litigation, construction and corporate restructuring, and who is regularly engaged by leading insolvency practitioners, corporations, directors and secured creditors.
The practice offers exposure to significant recovery proceedings, public examinations, voidable transaction claims, director-related litigation, freezing orders and disputes arising from formal insolvency appointments. The broader team also advises on substantial contractual and construction disputes, providing a varied litigation practice with a strong commercial focus.
The Firm
The Firm maintains an established litigation and restructuring capability, acting across complex commercial disputes and formal insolvency appointments. Its practice combines technical insolvency expertise with broader commercial litigation and construction capability, allowing lawyers to develop experience across interconnected disputes and recovery matters.
The team offers direct Partner access, meaningful responsibility and the opportunity to build a specialist practice within a commercially focused environment. Lawyers are supported to develop technically while gaining practical exposure to clients, strategy and the progression of matters through the courts.
About You
- 2–5 years’ PQE in insolvency litigation, commercial litigation or broader dispute resolution
- Experience in corporate insolvency, recovery proceedings, commercial disputes or related litigation
- Strong drafting, analytical and legal research capability
- Ability to manage competing priorities and take ownership of discrete aspects of matters
- A commercial approach and an interest in developing specialist insolvency and restructuring expertise
