The Brisbane commercial litigation practice has achieved upwards of 3.5 million and the strategic need to add a partner has now presented itself. This role presents a unique opportunity for a talented litigator to step into a leadership position that will be key to guiding a quality set of associates and lawyers in varied types of litigation predominantly at the Supreme Court end.
The Opportunity:
This is equally an excellent opportunity for a scaling Special Counsel with a strong technical reputation in general commercial litigation to step up. You will play a critical role in running matters to trial in State and Federal Courts and Tribunals, with a focus on shareholder disputes, professional negligence, and insolvency. There will also be a contingent spanning cryptocurrency, blockchain technologies, finance, property development, and defamation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage complex commercial litigation matters from inception to resolution, including running matters to trial in State and Federal Courts and Tribunals.
- Supervise and mentor a team of associates and junior lawyers, fostering their professional development and ensuring high standards of legal practice.
- Engage in alternative dispute resolution to achieve favourable outcomes for clients.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, providing strategic and commercially sound advice.
You will bring:
- Bachelor of Laws with strong academics.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience focused on commercial litigation.
- Intrinsically motivated to develop good lawyers and foster a collaborative team environment.
- Commercial mindset and the inherent ability to operate at Partner level and continue to grow your own practice and profile in Queensland
